Art Quilts Inspired by Author, Amy Tan....book titles
My art quilts are designed to be hung (hanging sleeve sewn onto back) but I often just use them as table toppers. Great size for occasional table, coffee table or even the breakfast table. I've even been known to throw them over the back of a chair! The raw-edge applique technique of attaching snippets of fabric to make my whimsical art quilts is fun and freeing. Whimsey is the spice of life.
"Saving Fish From Drowning".....
This "fish" fabric was the perfect backdrop for my aquarium which, of course, made the cats a given to pull up a chair and hang over the edge of the aquarium in a concerted effort to save these fish from drowning??
You could also call it "Fish Dinner" or "Gone Fishing".....whatever!

"The Joy Luck Club" #2
A collage of fabric stitched and quilted. Buttons are used to embellish the flowers and geese. These geese are flying South for the winter and are looking down to fields ready for harvest. Very effective wall hanging when hung on same rod as the companion, "The Joy Luck Club" #1 art quilt.
